Balawan,known as the magical finger guitarist, was born in Bali, hestarted to learn playing the guitar at the age of 8 years old, he studied in Sydney (Australia) and got scholarship in Australian Institute of Music to learn jazz deeper.

　　In 1997 he went back to Bali and formed“Batuan Ethnic Fusion” group. A combination of doubleneck tap guitar, traditional gamelan instruments and dancers.

　　They explored the world of Jazz Fusion in a very colorful manner. Their music is fast, technically challenging, dynamic and definitely entertaining.

　　Balawan continued to improve his “8 fingers Tapping” technique. They got many achievements and had been invited to several important musical events all over the world.
